CEMAC: BEAC launches SYSTAC2 to modernise the regional payment clearing system
| On 12 August 2026, the Banque des États de l’Afrique centrale (BEAC – central bank of CEMAC) announced the operational roll-out, since 3 August, of SYSTAC2, the new regional clearing platform for retail payments designed to succeed the first-generation SYSTAC system. The issuing institution of the CEMAC currency area is thus locking in the calendar of its programme to modernise retail payment infrastructures and strengthen interoperability between banks and fintechs in the sub-region.
