MAN outlines strategy for manufacturers to exploit AfCTA

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria has listed steps local manufacturers and small business owners can take to increase participation of in the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement.

The Director-General of MAN, Segun Ajayi-Kadir, said in an emailed statement to our correspondent that for member companies of MAN, particularly MSMEs, to benefit maximally from the AfCFTA, they needed to start accelerating export diversification by targeting products that were largely demanded within the continent but were mostly sourced from outside Africa.

Ajayi-Kadir said, “Based on our knowledge of the key provisions of the framework agreement and relevant stakeholders, MSMEs must begin to develop capacity in understanding the AfCFTA rules of origin and the trade remedy mechanisms.” Read More.
